Who We Are?

Tatsu Gi Kai is an Aikido organization founded in 1990 in Rotorua, New Zealand. The name translates to "Evolution through Form," reflecting its approach to teaching Aikido techniques with a strong emphasis on technical precision, practical application, and the teachings of Morihei Ueshiba and Morihiro Saito.
The group operates as a not-for-profit society, with affiliated dojos across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. This Wainuiomata Aikido Club is connected through Bronson Sensei, our dojo cho (Chief Instructor). This organization is led by his current teacher, Sensei Dianne Haynes, a 6th Dan black belt.
Dianne Sensei has been practicing Aikido since 1976 and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the art, as does his student. The club’s syllabus is carefully designed to help students develop a deep understanding of Aikido’s principles and techniques through consistent and dedicated practice.
